first draft of mr robot: the major motion picture clocks in at about 2hrs40mins. I cut out a lot of subplots. it’s a rough cut and I think the editing software messed w/the resolution but hey, proof of concept. the transiton from 3x04 into 3x05 turned out great!

re: mr. robot, s3 – if there were a way to condense 3x04-07 into a ~3.5-4 hour psychological thriller?
I’d love to see the end of 3x04 seamlessly carry over into the scene w/elliot and angela, giving the audience NO chance to catch their bearings.
angela’s flashback at the very start of 3x05 and w/elliot’s (3x07) after the conclusion of 3x06 would get placed elsewhere. or maybe cut them entirely? keep a little of elliot’s job at e corp from 3x02 and the reveal during 3x03 for the hook.
this effectively cuts darlene/tyrell/whiterose/santiago out save for where they’re strictly plot-relevant, but most of tyrell’s development is off-screen anyway & whiterose/price can still function as a presence felt rather than seen. same w/irving and darlene. might have to keep some of the fbi stuff though.
perhaps it wouldn’t gel without the context of previous seasons… still, I love the immediacy of the stakes in 3x04-06 and inescapable dread with a glimpse of hope at the end.

insult to injury ch06’s rough final draft is ~8.3k. might truncate a bit, but I also like the long haul of tension and opportunity for character growth. will either alternate POVs between safin/madeleine or split into separate chapters. I like the challenge of the former more right now.
